Résumé
Though mathematical structuralism as a field has been thouroughly developed, one main issue remains unclear : the metaphysics and role of relations. This thesis will explore the metaphysics of relations in a comptemporary setting and use those results in establishing a form of in re mathematical structuralism, called Relational Structuralism (RS). The ontological and espitemological commtiments of RS are then discussed, providing a coherent idea from which one can view the abstraction process of these structures, further shedding light on mathematical applicability. This is will finally be applied to a yet undecided physical example.
